The Patio House was finalized 2020 and constructed to give the best settings for an easy holiday life. It used to be a typical cosy Danish summerhouse from the 70' and after having been our holiday home for 7 years we decided it was time to make an extension to respond better to our needs.

 

We wanted to create a space where we could easily live-out our sports activities as well as chill-out. And at the same time create a private outdoor space protected from the winds.

To realize the brief, we chose the Danish architect Søren Sarup after having seen some of his previous works. The result is a house in perfect harmony with the surroundings. Whilst respecting the proportion of the original house in black wood, the extensions have been created to capture the lightening and frame the wilderness in the most astonishing way. You can observe the stars from one
bedroom, see the dunes from the sauna and the sun going down from the living room.

The patio offers a perfect sheltered outdoor space for cooking on the electric weber grill, enjoying the sun or just relaxing. In fact, a part of the patio is a personal spa area with a wood-heated jacuzzi, outdoor warm water shower and direct access to the sauna. And the sea is just 250 m away for a quick cool down!
